Caregiver Cleaning and Safety Tips

danna gomez April 20, 2020

In the video we shared several cleaning and safety tips. A few of these came from our favorite professional cleaner Debbie Sarbone and from our own caregivers. We are always interested in hearing your innovations and ideas, so if you think there is something we have missed please share.

Cleaning rules of 3

  1. Spray and Stay - Spray disinfectant and let it sit for the allotted amount of time listed on the back of the bottle (usually 90-120 seconds)

  2. Clean surface before you disinfect - Wipe off food and grime before using a disinfectant. You can use any all purpose cleaner for this step

  3. Once and Done - After one use just flip the rag/wet-wipe to a different side so that you are not spreading germs. If used too many times you will be doing more harm than good when it comes to sanitizing your house

8 simple steps

When someone is Starting Work remember these 4 steps. Please print the attachment and post in your senior’s homes as a reminder to you and anyone else that comes into their home. flyer

  1. When you are punching in you need to answer the Covid 19 screening questions

  2. Wash your hands once you get inside the residence

  3. Put on a clean apron and mask

  4. Stay 6 feet away. NO PERSONAL CONTACT WITHOUT GLOVES

Once all your work is finished we want you to do these steps on your way out the door.

  1. Wash your hands

  2. Use a  paper towel on door knobs as you leave

  3. Remove your apron and mask and place them in bag that be discarded

  4. Do not reuse the apron or mask without cleaning assume they are contaminated and launder accordingly
