Meijer Gardens will reopen June 8

danna gomez June 5, 2020

Frederik Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park will reopen its doors Monday with a ribbon-cutting celebration at the main entry garden. The ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at 6 a.m., and the doors will open to visitors at 9 a.m.

It’s exciting to see things start to open, especially our beautiful outdoor venues like Meijer Gardens. Managed Senior Care has an annual membership to the gardens that is available to any employee to either take their senior for a visit or their own family. If you would like to reserve the pass for a day, just call the office. Both the pass and your employee badge are required for entrance.

Meijers says there will be extensive signage and wayfinding icons to help people social distance. Some of the areas of the main building and outside grounds will remain closed.

For the most current information regarding enhanced safety procedures and a map showing areas that are temporarily closed, visit meijergardens.org/covid.

New Drive Thru testing centers in GR

danna gomez April 10, 2020

Mercy Health now offers two drive-thru testing centers in Grand Rapids and Muskegon for patients with a provider order to be tested for COVID-19.

As COVID-19 numbers spike in West Michigan, Mercy Health can test hundreds of patients per day while they stay in their vehicles.

Designed for patients who are not ill enough to warrant a hospital stay, the drive-thru testing centers provide a safer way to perform the necessary swab to diagnose COVID-19 for patients with a provider order to receive a COVID-19 test.

DEA National Take Back Day - Oct 26

danna gomez October 25, 2019

The National Prescription Drug Take Back Day addresses a crucial public safety and public health issue. According to the 2018 National Survey on Drug Use and Health, 9.9 million Americans misused controlled prescription drugs. The study shows that a majority of abused prescription drugs were obtained from family and friends, often from the home medicine cabinet.

The DEA’s Take Back Day events provide an opportunity for Americans to prevent drug addiction and overdose deaths.
