Stay Safe in the Heat!
It's a scorcher out there, so remember to be prepared for what the heat has in store. Your safety and your clients' well-being are top priorities!
Here are some tips to help you beat the heat:
Check the weather: Stay informed about daily temperatures and heat advisories to best prepare yourself and your clients for outdoor activities.
Prioritize your hydration: Take care of yourself first! Drink plenty of water throughout the day and breaks. Consider adding electrolytes to your routine to ensure proper water retention. You have to take care of yourself to take care of your client.
Adjust activities as needed: Think about alternative activities or work that can be done indoors. If possible, bring your task list inside to minimize time spent outdoors during a heat wave.
Protect vulnerable individuals: If you have clients or elderly family members who need to be outdoors, ensure they're more hydrated than normal. Ask clients if they have issues with heat before going outside or into hot spaces. If no issues, still be sure to limit time in direct sun or high heat, encourage frequent breaks in the shade, and occasionally seek cooler spaces for full relief.
