Tips to Save Your Aging Skin

danna gomez July 23, 2024

Just check out the beauty aisle in any store, and you will find hundreds of products to slather on your skin. And now, you somehow have a basket brimming with cleansers, serums, toners, lotions, masks and who knows what else. Depending on what you read or watch, you may find yourself misguided in what is and isn’t necessary. And you’ve found you’ve spent hundreds of dollars on skin-care products you’ll never use.

You’re not alone.

According to the Cleveland Clinic, anti-aging-skin-care article, “We start slathering on every skin care product we can get our hands on in hopes of finding the magical formula to keep our skin young and healthy.

It doesn’t have to be this hard. We promise.

“We look at our skin every day in the mirror, and other people see it, too, so it’s only natural to want it to look its best,” says physician assistant Samantha Stein, PA-C. “But it doesn’t have to be complicated. I compare anti-aging skin care to brushing your teeth. It’s important to do, but that doesn’t mean you need to spend a huge amount of time or money on it. You want to keep it simple. Less is more.”

Stein shares advice for the best anti-aging ingredients you should look for in your products, as well as skin care routines to keep your skin looking young — without going broke.

Best anti-aging skin care products

Signs of aging that can be addressed with a proper anti-aging skin care routine include:

  • Wrinkles and fine lines.

  • Dark spots (hyperpigmentation).

  • Droopy eyelids and dark circles under your eyes.

  • Redness and broken blood vessels.

Keep in mind, too, that it’s not just the skin on your face that ages. (Ever hear of “turkey neck?”)

“You can consider other areas, like your neck and hands especially, as part of your anti-aging routine,” Stein says. “The same ingredients and routine that we suggest for your face can also help with aging signs in those areas, too. If you’re already using the products, it doesn’t hurt to take good care of these other common areas where we show aging as well.”

So, what ingredients should you look for in your anti-aging products? A simple routine should include these scientifically proven anti-aging ingredients:

  1. Gentle cleanser.

  2. Vitamin C.

  3. Retinol.

  4. Moisturizer.

  5. Broad-spectrum sunscreen.

No Internet Connection

danna gomez July 18, 2024

The new state regulation requiring all care shifts to clock in and out with a Geo Code goes in to effect on Sept 3. We have been working diligently to make sure all our processes are updated to make this a seamless implementation.

4 Points to remember:

  • You must clock in and out with the mobile app

    • Offline Clock In or Out is enabled for the times when you do not have an internet connection. You will see a message, advising “You are in Offline mode because you do not have an internet connection. Your shift details are limited to clock-in and clock-out. Be sure to open the WellSky Personal Care app when you have internet connectivity so your shift(s) can be submitted to your agency.” The office will contact you to obtain the task information the next day.

    • You can use the client’s landline. You can call the 844-462-8187 number (it’s on your badge) to clock in and out, only if it is a landline and listed on the client’s profile in WellSky.

  • Your location settings must be on for use with the WellSky mobile app

  • You need to be at the clients home to clock in and out

  • You need the client’s signature before you leave the location.

If you have any questions, please contact the office for help. We are all very committed to make this easy for everyone! Thank you for all you do.

July is Social Wellness Month

danna gomez July 16, 2024

July is Social Wellness month and don’t we all need this some times. Isolation and loneliness are an epidemic in our country and the leading cause of many mental and physical ailments. There is no where this is more prevelant than with our seniors. Consider how you can help your senior connect just a little bit more this month.

There are three ways Seniors can make the most of Social Wellness Month

  1. Explore events at your local senior center. By joining hobby groups and exercise classes, you can meet new people.

  2. Host a Get-Together. Get friends and family together for a game or movie night, potluck dinner or holiday gathering.

  3. Connect through virtual meetings. When you cannot meet in person, chatting on line is the next best thing. You can catch up with long-distance family friends or join virtual communities or enroll in online classes.

Be creative and think of ideas of how you can help your senior get connected. Make sure you share your efforts with us. We want to hear about your efforts. Send pictures to the office and we will share here next month!
